Z&K Design Studio was founded in Shanghai in 2020 by Ms. Zoe Zhu. Our Chinese name means “plant in rock” — a metaphor for tenacious growth through difficulty, and for the firm’s belief that the hardest sites produce the most living architecture.
We do not stick to conventional thinking. Every project is searched for its own breakthrough, the way a plant finds a crack in rock and grows. Natural symbiosis, environmental adaptation and humanistic care are our constants.
直岩建筑设计由朱晓燕女士于 2020 年创立于上海。“直岩”——直抵本质，岩续生长。直岩不拘泥于常规思维，以“直”的理性洞察直击项目本质，以“岩”的坚韧精神承载可持续设计的使命。我们始终以自然共生、环境适应、人文关怀为核心设计思想，追求在看似坚硬冷峻的环境中创造富有生命力和温度的空间环境。

Ms. Zoe Zhu graduated from The Glasgow School of Art in the UK and has more than 18 years of interior design experience, including nearly six years as an independent designer. In the course of that practice her projects have covered resorts, hotels, offices and commercial space — different scales, different types — with rich experience of both design and construction delivery.
Her background at the Glasgow School of Art gives her an artistic and personal perspective on the understanding of space. In her design practice she works not only for the practicality and rationality of function and the convenience and economy of operation, but also for a pleasant aesthetic experience that enhances added value for the investor through design.
朱晓燕女士毕业于全球设计排名前十的英国格拉斯哥艺术学院（学士及硕士），拥有超过 18 年的室内设计工作经验，其中包含近 6 年的独立设计师工作经历。在其十八年多的设计实践中，设计项目包含度假村、酒店、办公、商业等多种不同尺度及类型空间，具备丰富的设计及项目施工落地经验。
格拉斯哥艺术学院的背景促使她对空间的理解增添了艺术化与个性化的视角。在设计实践中，她不仅打造功能的实用性与合理性、运营的便捷性与经济性，也创造愉悦的美学体验，通过设计为投资人提升附加价值。
Ms Dongker has more than 18 years of professional experience in landscape design, extending across a large range of projects from commercial and office complexes to residential and public realm. She has excellent project design and management skills at all phases of project design work.
The concept phase pursues innovation, seeking the bright spot of the project itself with precise positioning, and successfully delivering the expected results. Solid technical knowledge and rich experience in programme deepening and detail development give her a distinct view on the control of details. Strong in design logic, she treats design with an accurate and rational attitude and solves complex problems through design. She is good at interpreting the meaning a project holds for its site, and combining it with the client’s demands to create a space full of meaning and fun. Highly cost-aware, she allocates cost reasonably and uses it as leverage to bring more added value to the project.
董科儿女士从事景观设计逾 18 年的专业经验，对项目设计、落地及管理有丰富的经验。涉及的项目包括商业空间、办公空间、酒店住宅和公共空间类型设计。在项目设计工作的各个阶段都具备优秀的项目设计和管理能力。
概念阶段追求创新，以精准的项目定位寻找项目本身的闪光点，成功交付预期的结果；方案深化及细节发展方面有扎实的技术知识和丰富的经验，对细节的把控有自己独特的见解。设计思维逻辑性强，以准确理性的态度对待设计，致力于通过设计解决复杂问题；擅长解读项目对于场地的意义，结合客户的诉求打造充满意义与乐趣的空间。高度的成本意识，合理分配成本，利用杠杆为项目带来更多的附加价值。
